If it makes you feel any more periodly comfortable...it was originally Red Stockings...the Sox came later.

I guess I'm not missing much by not having read any Susan Sontag, huh?

If it's any consolation to anyone, I made my own gambeson, and will probably make the next one.

I recall using similar vocabulary when working on my first miserable attempt at a gambeson, a couple of years ago. I gave up and we hired Clare (de Crecy) to make one. We all ended up happy: Clare got Pennsic money, Kevin got a great gambeson and I didn't have to make it! I highly recommend this approach. =)

Padr. says "I can acess guestbooks from Sweden - woohoo!!" I have nothing more to say really, except I feel your pain. Bet the sewing sucked. Mwhahahahah. The good thing is they last a few years.

Oh, Lordy, I'm a redneck! (At least, according to your list.) I store my clothes in a chiffarobe, too, although I don't call it that where the cultured folks can hear me.

Alejandro: Actually, on my first encounter with grits I DID ask for *A* grit to see what it was like. When I got the bowl I exclaimed "OHHH, cream of wheat!" After many MORE frowns I announced "look, anytime you have to add THAT many condiments to something to make it edible, you are working too hard." heheheh

If you've ever had to call a hold because someone showed up with BBQ, you might be from Windmasters' Hill. And Tristan, grits by their very nature are not singular. But they are d@mned yummy.

Grits. Hmmm. Fascinating. Could I try just *A* grit please, to see what it is like? :-)
